We're back on the five keys to success for hardware modernization.

Number two. Include analytics from day one. Analytics isn't just for consumer applications. A lot of the same data and insights that we want to glean from consumer applications also apply to the applications that we build and release for internal enterprise purposes. We want to know about the user behavior.

How are they using the application? How many times per day are they logging into the application? Where are they using it? Are we seeing differences in the utilization from the application from one region versus another region? Is it a carrier-related issue? Is there something about the database that one state is accessing versus the database another state is accessing?

These are all the types of insights that we can glean if we have those analytics put in from day one. So, it requires that when we build the application, we include that instrumentation, so that we're not letting analytics be something that's an afterthought. Something that we put in when we're migrating the application over to the support cycle.

It should absolutely be included from day one, so that we can assess user behaviors, assess the performance of the application, make sure that we're on track with our own and the users' expectations, and continue to foster that environment of continuous learning with the application.

So again, the number two key to success with hardware modernization is to include analytics in your new solution from day one.
